Pipes & Leaks

Sometimes a plumbing leak can be just a dripping faucet. At other times, the issue might be more something more serious involving the pipes. In either case, Aquaduct Plumbing provides you the resources and skill for correcting the problem and restoring proper flow.

A leaky faucet is easy enough to recognize. Pipes on the other hand could be defective for a number of reasons. The important thing is having a pipe leak attended to promptly because even a small pipe drip can develop into a much greater threat to property and even personal health if mold begins to develop.

Several things can cause a pipe to leak, such as:

  • Small foundational shifts that force water lines to adjust
  • Tree roots that burrow into pipes
  • Extreme temperature changes, which can cause pipes to crack
  • Water moving through the pipe at high pressure and speed
  • Corrosion of older pipes

If you find yourself dealing with a leaky faucet or pipe beyond your know-how to fix, simply connect with an Aquaduct and we’ll be there for the solution you need.

Leaking Toilets and Faucets

Beyond a noticeable drip or a pooling of water, signs of a leaking faucet can include rust or water around the drain or at the base of the faucet. There might also be an odor around the drain. In the case of a toilet leak, you may see water collecting in the bowl or on the floor or bumps forming in the tile or flooring around the toilet.

Leaking Washing Machine Hose

If your washing machine hose is leaking water, it could be because of a bulging or cracked hose or loose or rusted connections. You might also see small pools of water near or behind the washing machine.

Leaking Water Heater

Are you detecting the sound of dripping water or other sounds from your water heater? There could be a leak. Other indicators might be moisture or puddles close to the tank, an irregular hot-water supply, or bumps or uneven flooring near the water heater.

Broken Water Line

Many homes receives their water from a single water line. Signs that something is wrong with the line might include discoloration of water, lower water pressure or an area in your yard that always seems to be wet.

Frozen Pipes

Winter cold in the Fox Valley region can have a great impact on plumbing and sewer pipes. Water can turn to ice within them, causing pipe cracks and bursts. Just one leak from a pipe affected by freezing can release up to hundreds of gallons of water.
